Careful you're treading on the ~highsec intellectual~'s toes here. We can't have a functioning nullsec because its not supposed to be a functioning nullsec.
Keep trolling and baiting, it's done good for you till now.
In he meanwhile those who want fun PvP are doing it in other games. Most don't care enough about wasting days and weeks on the forums.
If you want EvE to quickly steer their PvP to cater to you, it's very easy: both CFC and HBC have just to coordinate once again... and mass unsub for 2-3 months.
Stay sure that CCP will quickly step in and do whatever is needed to get you back.

La Nariz wrote: Now, now no names were mentioned, why are you so offended? This thread is about the need for a nullsec sov fix. Since the terrible sov system is a preventative factor for conflict. So what does your post have to do with fixing sov? To the other guy mentioning HR, you have a point there are only so many people working for CCP and they might not be able to spare them right now. That still doesn't explain why they can't at least say something like "hey guys we know stuff is messed up here's our timeline and what we think we might do to fix it."
Because you blame someone non CCP else ("intellectuals") for stuff like getting threads locked and maybe for causing famine on Somalia.
When somebody suggested to make EvE PvP more alike other PvP games where PvP is WAY more fun, the ideas were shot down as well.
Therefore now you are kinda sleeping in your own bed.
EvE PvP has many wrong things. I wrote about them, got the ideas shot down by the GS Orthodoxy Control Center... and now you wish more ideas and support. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

La Nariz wrote: Now lets see here I can't take much you post seriously because you subscribe to goonspiracy. You attribute that because we don't agree that it came from GSF high command that we must shoot down all of your posts with as much trolling as possible and that is simply not the case. We don't agree, you got upset and argued in circles that there is some big conspiracy lead by our direkktorate. You'd ignore everything someone else posted, pick out two sentences then make some big argument not even tangentially related to what they were saying. I'd list more reasons why not many of us take you serious and don't waste effort on replying to you but they are far to numerous for me to list.
So please break your cycle of badposting, how does anything you've said relate to us being upset that nullsec sov has needed fixing forever yet is basically ignored?
Looking you intellectually masturbating in this circle of words...
... problem is... it's not even fun. Just boring. It's all been seen, it's a black and white transmission.
I and many, many others had more fun when terrible alliances of the past including mine would go in 0.0 and massively fail while trying... and make the media headlines.... and all we had as "sov" were stupid boring POSes to shoot and next to none supercaps. And before us there were those who went in there without a cyno or anything and dealt with it.
Now, much, much more than a sov / null sec revamp is needed. The null issues and even the null vs hi sec diatribe are all a smokescreen on something bigger, something worse.
Game's sedimented and aged as a whole, while CCP tries to recover from the past unfinished features the new ones grow old and stale.
What CCP needs is a priority list of what to do next and do it damn good, but they have no good and unbiased consuelor to do that. EvE CSM is not representative enough of the whole playerbase to be trusted, and in fact CCP "listens" to them... till a certain point.
Adding on the to top of that, there's the "you won EvE" factor I described several times. You won EvE, you don't rationalize the fact you are done. FINITO. End titles have scrolled, credits have passed and now you are at the main menu wondering what to do next. But there's no next. The sooner you realize and rationalize this the better for you.

Another addition - and I am surprised people like Malcanis have not pointed it out yet.
CCP has easily lived off goodwill. I am not just talking about their published balances but also about the players.
They sell for real subs at Fanfest what they tell you they will implement. In the end you pay and play more for the "grand vision" than for the actual game itself. CCP switch to a new course of small incremental fixes / small features broke this smokescreen, this faux mirror, and now players can see behind it and find a... nothing.
I will sound presumptuous but I have indeed developed software for 2 decades... seeing a couple of timers and some database entries modifications being sold as months of work... really?
Then WHY waste men months to implement PIZZAS targetting when sov mechanics are unfinished and just BAD?
EvE's now is far behind the "schedule" that players would like to see, nothing awe inspiring got made past Apochrypha.
But when I say these things I am always alone. It took a new CCP designer to realize this. Hope they follow through else EvE will really fall behind and low, very low.

Let's make some grand big post that touches on everything except the actual issues. Yeah, that's a great idea.

This is why I'd like to rate Apocrypha as the worst EVE expansion ever. It did so much to raise player expectations about how much CCP could achieve in so little time, that anything else CCP does short of releasing an expansion bigger and bolder than Apocrypha will be ridiculed as "a few timers" or "a graphics update".
Not sure why a product paid for a premium fee should routinely under-deliver so that to keep expectations so low that anything is seen like manna from Heavens. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

The worst anti-support I had towards you (in the now locked threadnought) saw me "just" 75% agreeing with you.
75% is clearly way too low and clearly makes it a terrible idea. I should bend over and make my nose deep brown like just another puppet. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

James Amril-Kesh wrote:NickyYo wrote:James Amril-Kesh wrote:As demonstrated by the averted war between the CFC and the HBC, two coalitions who have been itching to shoot at each other for months, sov mechanics need to be fixed. Now. We're utterly fed up with dealing with timers and structure bashes and space that people don't care enough about to defend. We want battles, exploding ships, and goodfights, but these are becoming increasingly rare as more people get tired of the current sov mechanics.
So please, CCP, focus the summer expansion on sovereignty mechanics. I know it's a big project, but it needs to be done more than anything else and it needs to happen sooner rather than later. If its getting boring, why don't you fix the problem by you or your corp leaving the alliance and creat some conflict somewhere else? Working as intended. It isn't getting boring. It is boring. It always has been. It always will be.
If you believe it'll always be, why do you keep paying a sub for a MMO company that is delivering a game like that? Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Imo focus is moving away from a proper analythical path.
Power projection? Maybe. Poor nullsec facilities? Sure. Big HP boring structures grind? Of course.
But you'll never grasp the whole when tackling single issues.
What I am going to post next should imho be actually brought up at a CSM meeting.
An use case for null sec should be made, a motivator analysis too:
1) Which kind of playerbase are the best candidates for null sec? Should we (CCP) add more industrialists to them? And similar questions.
2) Why do they want to go there to begin with? Did we (CCP) put an answer to their aspirations in there? Did it work?
3) What makes those instigators decide "hey I want to become / lead a new power in null sec". Did we second them with proper game mechanics?
4) MOST IMPORTANT: What are the exact steps that worked in the past to make the big transition from:
Instigator => Corp with common goals => Corp moves to low sec / FW / staging => Corp moves to NPC null sec / staging => Corp eventually takes some sov or enters an alliance and holds sov => Alliance expands and fights against the established ones.
5) What broke some of those steps and why? Can we either restore this progression or provide new ways to reinstate a similar results progression?
6) What to do with those very large alliances?
- implement mechanics to increase intra-alliance conflict so they are easier to split?
- create post "we won EvE" content for them so that they can further evolve?
- just give them "farmlands" and let the game go on towards a sort of cooperative empires gameplay?
7) What is the price for leaving everything as is? Is it worth it? How will the EvE franchise be affected by stagnation? How will the playerbase react and how will subscriptions reflect that?
Without these clear points in mind, it's easy to patch in a change in there, a nerf in there, a buff in there and... achieve nothing but to create new issues or just shift the issues to a next future. And with every shift and hold over the issues will just come back harder and stronger than before till the whole game implodes.
I hope a CSM member reads this and considers these points for a CCP meeting. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity
